Polyvagal Informed Therapy

I also offer targeted sessions informed by Polyvagal Theory. Simply speaking Polyvagal Theory explains how our nervous system can, without our awareness, trigger uncomfortable and inappropriate emotional responses. This process can hijack our thoughts, feelings and behaviours at any given moment, but can be particularly problematic when we get stuck in a certain type of response. You might be familiar with this experience, if you relate to feeling like you are on a roller-coaster or emotions, maybe you feel constantly disconnected, eternally on edge or quick to anger etc. More formally you may have been given a diagnosis of anxiety or depression.

Polyvagal informed therapy is a little more structured than Integrative sessions, as it specifically focuses on your emotional management, from a physiological level without the need to explore the specifics of your situation. Sessions begin by helping you to understand the workings of the nervous system in simple and practical terms. Later I will support you in moving to map your unique emotional responses, including your danger and safety cues. The aim will be to increase your emotional stability and flexibility thought the application of simple yet effective tools and techniques.

Wellbeing Coaching

Wellbeing coaching might be for you if you feel that you would like to regain focus in your life. Maybe you have lost your sense of purpose or identity, following a change in circumstance or are experiencing a general sense of emotional fatigue.
